LSO Distributed Food Package During The Month of Ramadan and Covid-19 Pandemic in 2021
[April and May 2021] LSO had implemented the 2021 Ramadan Feed the Fasting in Cambodia during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, and some areas of Cambodia, especially Phnom Penh city, had beelocked downwn. The LSO team and relevant stakeholders had tried hard, and with the blessing of Allah swt, we could achieve this project effectively and help the poor Muslim family in Ramadan as well as during the hard time of COVID-19.
We implemented this project in 6 cities/provinces. We distributed 981 Ramadan Food Vouchers to Muslim poor families, which were selected according to the selection criteria in collaboration with local authorities. We also had selected vendors in their areas so that they could easily redeem the vouchers and choose the food they needed at the shops. We also transferred Ramadan Cash to 19 poor Muslim families (18 are orphans) instead of giving them Ramadan Food Voucher because they stay far and they need help during Ramadan and the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, the project could help about 4,501 Muslim people (direct and indirect).
